This is a clip I picked from an episode lonnnnggggg ago, so long ago I used subtitles back then fff I'm ashamed. Anyway I didn't re-cut it or anything, that's the clip I did something like 9 years ago.
I thought I'd share this with friends who wouldn't... know this moment.
What you have here is Dean, currently in a very bad place, in a bad moment of his life (about to die and go to hell), trying to cheer up Sammy.
And see ? He does it. He cheers his little brother up. Sam smiles. Sings. For a moment, he's breathing.
Dean isn't okay but even here, even now, even in this moment, he looks up for his little brother, he makes sure he's okay, he makes him smile, feel better. And once Sam smiles, his job's done.
